19th of June:

Plus I got a gearbox from an old russian cultivator, it weighs 39 kilograms and is in mint condition. With this gearbox working with the previous bike gearbox I get 4 reverse and 4 forward gears for the ATV. In Addition the cultivator gearbox, which I'll mount directly on the H-Arm between the tires, has a power-jack, which is a small axle to drive all the appliances that an ATV could tow, like a lawnmower, mulcher, snow blower, etc. |

Todays (12.June, Sunday) work:

+ I've cut all of the material for the rest of the chassis. Things are looking bright and every step adds more and more motivation :) |

The welds on the base were too weak - so i spent the whole day (its 00:19 now) welding the welds over with a thicker electrode. Besides that i spent the whole morning redrawing the chassis plans, the toolbox is back in and lies behind the seat. I calculated and simulated different scenarios and different forces acting on the chassis and with the results I made it considerably stronger. The unofficial security coefficient of the chassis is 4.2 :)
I relocated many of the 'ribs', I improved accident safety (for my own benefit) and simplified the design for easier welding.
Overall, a very productive day. |
